Using the General Status view

Use the General option to view:

•	The status of the GFI EndPointSecurity service and of the database backend

•	The status of GFI EndPointSecurity agents deployed on network computers

•	Device usage such as the number of devices blocked and the number of devices allowed

The information provided in this view is divided into dedicated sections. More details on these sections are provided below.

Service Status

This section shows:

•	The operational status of the GFI EndPointSecurity service

•	The user account under which the GFI EndPointSecurity service is running

•	The time when the service was last started.

Database Backend Status

This section shows:

•	The operational status of the database server currently in use by GFI EndPointSecurity

•	The name of the database server currently in use by GFI EndPointSecurity

•	The name of the database in which GFI EndPointSecurity is archiving events.

Click on the Configure database link to bring up the database backend configuration dialog.

General Status

This section shows the number of:

•	Devices blocked on network computers

•	Devices allowed on network computers

•	Agents installed on network computers

•	Agents which need to be updated, which includes:

	Agents to be installed

	Agents to be uninstalled

	Protection policy updates.

•	Scheduled deployments, which includes:

	Agents to be installed

	Agents to be uninstalled

	Protection policy updates.

Protection status

This section graphically represents daily device usage on network computers, differentiating between devices that have been blocked and devices that have been allowed.

Click on the View logs browser link for an in-depth analysis of events, including those for devices which have been blocked/allowed.

Online Status

This section graphically represents all agents deployed on network computers, differentiating between those that are currently online and those that are offline.

Click on the View agents status link for agents’ status details.

Agents Status

This section graphically represents the number of agents which:

•	Are in-sync with the protection policy

•	Need to be updated with protection policy changes

•	Are awaiting installation on network computers

•	Are awaiting uninstallation from network computers.

Device Usage

This section graphically represents the number of devices detected for each device type.

Click on the View statistics link for a statistical breakdown of device usage, showing which have been blocked/allowed for a specific computer or for all network computers.
