7.4	Configuring power users

GFI EndPointSecurity allows you to specify as power users any user and user group that is a member of the Active Directory (AD) or local users and groups schema. You can do this on a protection policy by policy basis.

Power users in a specific protection policy have full control on devices connected to computers in that policy, irrespective of any restrictions you may have set.

NOTE: You should exercise caution when using this feature, since incorrectly specifying a user as a power user will lead to that user overriding all protection policy restrictions.

To specify power users:

1. Click on the Configuration tab

2. Click Protection Policies

3. From the left pane, select the protection policy for which you want to specify Power Users

4. From the right pane, click Power Users in the Security section

5. Click Add to specify the user(s)/group(s) which will be power users. Click OK to finalize settings

6. Deploy the protection policy updates on to the computers included in the policy. From the left pane, right-click on the protection policy you configured and select Deployment ► Deploy agent(s).
