Installing the OCR routing module

Note: This paragraph is only applicable if you have purchased the OCR module.

FAXmaker users can opt to purchase an OCR module that can automatically route incoming faxes to the right recipient. With this module, the fax server will scan incoming faxes for recipient names and/or keywords, and automatically route it to the matching recipient's mailbox. If FAXmaker cannot match a fax to a recipient, it will route the fax to the user who normally receives the inbound faxes.

To install the OCR module:

  1. Stop the FAXmaker FAX Server service and the FAXmaker MTA Service.
  2. Run Setup.exe from the OCR directory of your CD-ROM or from the directory you unzipped the downloaded file(s) to. You will be asked to close all programs. Click Next. The module will now be installed automatically.
  3. Activate OCR routing from the Fax server configuration, see Chapter 'Configuring FAXmaker' under Step 1: Configure the FAXmaker Fax Server.
  4. Set up OCR routing per user in the FAXmaker User Manager, by going to the 'OCR tab'. More information on how to do this can be found in 'Step 2: Set up FAXmaker users' in the Chapter 'Configuring FAXmaker'.
  5. Restart the FAXmaker Services.
