FAXmaker Requirements

Before you install FAXmaker, please ensure that you meet all the requirements mentioned below.

FAXmaker fax server:

A Windows 2000, XP or 2003 machine with at least 256 MB memory and a 800 MHz Pentium. The machine does not need to be dedicated to FAXmaker. You can run the FAXmaker server on the file server (providing your file server is running Windows XP/2000/2003). FAXmaker requires very little resources or processing time.
One of the following fax devices: A supported fax board, active ISDN card or fax modem. FAXmaker supports all modems that have Microsoft fax modem drivers. However, a quality class 2 fax modem is still recommended.
IMPORTANT: Disable Anti Virus software from scanning the GFI FAXmaker directories! AV products are known to both interfere with normal operation as well as slow down any software which requires file access. For more information: http://kbase.gfi.com/showarticle.asp?id=KBID001522
Make sure that backup software is not backing up any of the GFI FAXmaker directories at any point.

FAXmaker client:

Windows XP, 2000, 2003, Windows 95/98/ME or Windows NT Server/ Workstation 4.0.
