Getting started: Default reports

Introduction

After installing the GFI LANguard N.S.S. ReportPack a number of specialized pre-configured reports can immediately be generated on the data stored in the database backend of GFI LANguard N.S.S. These default reports are organized in the following categories:

  • Executive - Use the reports in this category to generate a high-level summary of the security vulnerabilities discovered on a computer network. Executive reports are in graphical format. One example of how these reports can be used is to generate charts which help you to quickly identify the exposure level of the enterprise network to threats.
  • Statistical - Use the reports in this category to generate a statistical overview of vulnerabilities discovered on a network security.
  • Technical - Use the reports in this category to generate detailed technical information on the vulnerabilities discovered on your network (for example, network host vulnerability and patching status).
  • Top 20 - Use the reports in this category to pinpoint the vulnerabilities and security issues that were most frequently identified across the IT infrastructure of an organization. For example the 20 most vulnerable hosts based on the number of open Trojan ports.

Click on the Default Reports navigation button to access the list of default reports shipped with the GFI LANguard N.S.S. ReportPack.

TIP: Click on the individual reports which can be generated to view a sample output of what the report will contain.
