A scan job defines what files LANguard S.I.M. should monitor and when it should do so. You can create multiple scans in order to differentiate between critical files, that need to be monitored frequently, and less critical files which you wish to monitor less frequently. You can also create different scans in order to create different types of alerts, sent to different people or with different subjects. To create a scan job:
- In the LANguard S.I.M. configuration, go to the Scan jobs node, right- click, and select New > Scan job.

Adding a new scan job
- Give the scan a name, for example 'critical system files' or 'index page'. Click OK to create the scan.
- The scan job will be listed in the right pane. Double-click on it to bring up the scan properties. Now you can configure to who the alert will be sent for this particular scan. You can configure the subject of the alert e-mail, the from address and the e-mail where the alert should be sent.

Configuring where the alerts should be sent
- In the schedule tab you can specify at what interval you want LANguard S.I.M. to monitor the files. For system files, select once every 2 hours. For other files you can select daily, weekly or monthly.
