1. In the GFI MailEssentials configuration, select the Anti-Spam > Bayesian Analysis node, right-click and select
Properties. This brings up the
Bayesian Analysis Properties dialog. From the
General tab, select the
Enable Bayesian Analysis checkbox.
2. Ensure that the Automatically learn from outbound emails option is checked. This option will continuously update the legitimate email database with outbound emails.
3. From the Updates tab, you can specify how frequently GFI MailEssentials should check for updates to the spam database. To do this, select the
Automatically check for updates checkbox and specify an interval in hours in the
Download/check every field. If you want to trigger an instant download, click the
Download updates now button. The updates will be downloaded from the preferred server selected. For more information on how to select the preferred server, refer to the ‘Selecting the server from where to download updates’ section of the ‘Miscellaneous Options’ chapter.
