Remote configuration of Mail essentials
You can configure Mail essentials from a remote machine. To do this, you must install the Mail essentials configuration program on the remote machine from which you wish to configure Mail essentials.
Note: You need to have build 20010118 or later.
To install the configuration on a remote machine;
- Go to the machine where you wish to install the remote configuration. Load up Windows explorer and browse for the Mail essentials machine. You should see a share called 'Remoteinstall'. This share has been created automatically.
- Now run setup.exe. (do not copy the installation files locally).
- The configuration files will now be installed. After installation, you can access it from the Task bar menu under GFI Mail essentials remote configuration.

NOTE: If you can not access the share, then set up the read and write permissions to the following directories:
- <Mail essentials root folder>\RemoteInstall (sharename RemoteInstall)
- <Mail essentials root folder>\Data (sharename Data)
- <%RootDrive%>\Program Files\Common Files\GFi Shared\GFIM\Data (sharename GFIMDat)
When ready check that you can actually read and write to the shares from the machine where the Remote configuration will be installed.
