SMTP options (Windows NT only)
Mail essentials includes an internal SMTP server. You can configure this server by clicking on the button 'SMTP options' in the general tab of the Mail configuration dialog.
The SMTP options dialog allows you to configure the internal mail essentials SMTP server. The following options are available:

SMTP Options
SMTP Server Port: This indicates the port on which the Mail essentials server will receive mail. Leave this option on the default port 25.
Maximum retry: Maximum number of times that the SMTP server will try to make a connection to a particular mail server.
Max. connections: This sets the maximum number of connections that Mail essentials will establish at any one time. The default is 12 connections, which is the right amount for 64k leased lines. If you have more bandwidth than that, you can add 12-20 connections for each additional 64k bandwidth that you have.
Retry after (min.): This option sets the delay time between the retries.
Send out all mail directly to destination: If you wish that Mail essentials sends out all the email, i.e. resolves the domain and sends mail directly to the recipient's mail server, enable this option. (Its best to only use this option if you have a dedicated/leased line).
Forward all mail to (smart host): Use this option if you have a dial-up connection. If you specify your ISP's mail server here, Mail essentials will forward all mail to your ISP's mail server which will then in turn send out the mail. This way the online time will be reduced to a minimum.
Do not receive mail larger than: Enter the maximum size of e-mail you wish to receive. If an incoming mail is larger than the maximum size, the email is returned to the sender with the reason why the mail could not be received.
