TXT file types are not blocked when they are renamed to a different format and copied to a USB drive.

Root Cause

Since TXT files do not have any text format, GFI EndPointSecurity cannot verify its format.

Information

Not blocking of TXT after renaming to a different format is normal behavior and only happens with TXT files.

GFI EndPointSecurity checks both for the file type and text format, but as TXT files do not have text format, one can rename and copy it to a USB device. GFI EndPointSecurity will block any other text file with proper formats such as PDF or DOC.
