Users are unable to install KOFF (Kerio Outlook Connector (Offline Edition)) on Microsoft Outlook. It does not detect the Outlook version and executable file.
This article provides a resolution based on the root cause of the issue.
NOTE: This is a specific example of Outlook versions replicated for this issue.
- Outlook 2007 and Office 365 installed in one environment.
- Microsoft Office Student Edition (Unsupported)
To check other supported Outlook versions, please visit Kerio Connect End-User System Requirements.
KOFF will not initialize the installation once it detects multiple Outlook versions installed in the user's environment.
Also, KOFF is not supported by Microsoft Office Student Edition as these editions do not support MAPI connections; the type of connection that KOFF uses.
- Uninstall Outlook 2007 and Office 365.
- Uninstall KOFF.
If the process failed to uninstall, use the KTUninstall tool to remove unnecessary files.
- Install a fresh copy of Office 365 or Outlook 2007.
NOTE: Please retain only one Outlook application in your system.
- Reinstall KOFF.
- Make sure to set proper antivirus exclusions for the KOFF folder.
Default locations are:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Kerio\Outlook Connector (Offline Edition)
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Kerio\Outlook ConnectorNOTE: Please refer to the corresponding vendor for details on how to add the exclusions in the antivirus.
Once KOFF has been installed successfully, you may now create an Outlook profile using KOFF.
