Gateway rejects an outbound call when Brooktrout SR140 is present and caller ID, i.e., Caller Line Identity Presentation (CLIP), is enabled in GFI FaxMaker. TE-Systems XCAPI can be used instead with the desired result.
GFI FaxMaker Version 2013 Build 20121205 or later
Currently, CLIP is not supported by GFI FaxMaker when faxes are sent/received using the SIP/H.323 protocol. If CLIP is not enabled in GFI FaxMaker, then SR140 will use the string "Anonymous” <sip:number@IP-Address> in the FROM header field. Per RFC, the gateway will then not show the caller ID because of the word "Anonymous”.
If CLIP is enabled in GFI FaxMaker, then the default value will be overwritten by the value given by GFI FaxMaker. GFI FaxMaker will take the value from the field "Business Fax" of the sender in Active Directory. The Business Fax may contain the fax extension, e.g., 6510, that will be used as the CALLER ID. Because a postfix @domain or @IP address is missing, the SIP INVITE message will be rejected by the gateway, because the FROM HEADER field of the SIP invite message contains a malformed value.
To work around this issue, use TE-Systems XCAPI instead.
