Converting MS Access to MS SQL After Upgrading from LanGuard 9 to 2011

Overview

This article guides you on how to convert Microsoft Access database to MS SQL after upgrading LanGuard 9 to LanGuard 2011.

 

Process

In the LanGuard 9 console:

  1. Open the LanGuard 9 console.
  2. Click Network Audit and then Analyze.
  3. Click Load Scan Results from then select the database.
  4. Once loaded you can then save scan results to an XML file.

In the LanGuard 2011 console:

  1. Go to Configuration > Database Maintenance Options.
  2. Click Database Backend Settings.
  3. Change database type to MS SQL Server and enter the necessary credentials.
  4. Click OK when finished.
  5. Click the drop-down menu and select File.
  6. Select Load Scan Results from, then choose the XML file.
NOTE: You can only save one set of scan results at a time in GFI LanGuard 9.6.
