The GFI WebMonitor Monitoring section shows Surf Time Report under the Reports drop down.
The Surf Time is an approximate time calculated by observing access to web sites. Every time a user accesses a website, 1 minute surf time will be added for that user. During this period, the user can access other web sites. When the 1 minute has elapsed, another 1 minute will be added if the user is still browsing.
The surf time for websites is calculated in a similar way. If a website is accessed by one or more users during the same 1 minute, only 1 minute will be added to the Surf Time. Any other access done after the 1 minute will add another 1 minute for that site.
- When calculating surf time, only access to HTML files will add surf time.
- GFI WebMonitor adjusts the surf time to cater for certain automatic web access. This minimizes the web activity shown in surf time which is not generated by users.
