Error: 'Failed to Do Autodiscovery' when adding/editing an Office 365 entry under Mail Servers to Archive in a language other than English

Answer

PROBLEM

Consider the following symptoms:

Trying to add an EWS or Office 365 based journal entry under Configuration > Mail Servers to Archive fails with the message:
 
Failed during: Testing connection
Details: Could not perform test of connection. Details: Failed to Do Autodiscovery

or 

Failed during: Testing connection
Details: HTTP Error 401 Unauthorized

or 

Failed during: Testing Connection
Details: HTTP Error 403 Access Denied/Forbidden

The Mail Servers to Archive information looks similar to this (may vary on the language that Archiver was installed in):

ENVIRONMENT

  • GFI MailArchiver
  • Microsoft Exchange 2007 or later or Office 365


SOLUTION

 Change the name of the Inbox to the correct language.  In this case it was Spanish

CAUSE

Although Archiver is installed in a language other than English, the Mail Servers to Archive wizard does not automatically change the name of the target folder Inbox from English.
