Configuration Data Can Only Be Exported and Imported Between the Same Build of GFI MailEssentials

Overview

This article provides a resolution related to configuration data that can only be exported and imported between the same build of GFI MailEssentials.

Root Cause

Due to schema updates on the database and added tables for the new feature, tables will be incompatible with previous versions.

Resolution

  • The GFI MailEssentials Import/Export tool was designed to be used with the same build of GFI MailEssentials.
  • If you are running multiple installations of GFI MailEssentials, you can configure GFI MailEssentials on one server and export the configuration from this server. The same settings can then be imported on the other servers.
  • In order to do this, all the GFI MailEssentials installations involved need to be running the same versions and builds.
  • If you are running multiple installations using different builds, it is also recommended to upgrade all installations to the latest build before using the GFI MailEssentials Import/Export.
