After updating Microsoft Exchange 2013 to the latest Cumulative Update, the Microsoft Exchange Transport Service doesn't start any more or stops shortly after starting. GFI MailEssentials is installed on the same machine.
- GFI MailEssentials
- Microsoft Exchange 2013 server
Before upgrading the Microsoft Exchange server, the following steps should be performed in order to prevent any conflicts:
- Email processing should be disabled via the GFI MailEssentials Switchboard
- GFI MailEssentials services should be stopped and set to disabled
Should the Microsoft Exchange updates include changes to the Transport Agents, the E2k7 Wizard (e2k7wiz.exe from the root installation folder) should be run with the -clean flag, in order to re-install the Microsoft Exchange Agents and refresh all the important GFI MailEssentials settings.
This is caused by changes to the Microsoft Exchange Agents during the updates.
