OverviewWhen going to findmyexinda.com to discover appliances within the same subnet, the browser comes back with an Exception error.
Cause1.- FindMyExinda tool is a Java-Based resource of type NPAPI. Currently, Chrome does not allow these type of plugins.
2.- Java has increased its security requirements and does not allow applications coming from unknown locations. Exinda.com is one of these locations
Resolution- The recommended browser is Internet Explorer
- Ensure that the latest Java version is the one running in the PC, otherwise download and install the latest version from the following website: https://java.com/en/download/. To confirm your current version of Java if you have one, use the website: https://www.java.com/verify
- Add the following URL: http://www2.exinda.com/findmyexinda/ in the Exception List within the Java security options:
1.- From the Start Menu, look for "Configure Java":
2.- In the "Java Control Panel" select the Security tab, then click on "Edit List" within the "Exception List" section:
3.- Click on "add" and type the above URL, then click OK to close the Exception List Window and click on "OK" one more time to close the Java Control Panel:
4.- Wait for a few minutes or reboot your machine, the changes will be accepted by when the PC comes back.
5.- When accessing to findmyexinda.com, you should receive the following security warning, which you can skip by selecting the "I accept the risk and want to run this application" and then clicking on "Run":
