OverviewExinda Factory Reset provides the flexibility to
1. Keep IP connectivity while erasing config
2. Keep monitoring data while erasing config
3. Remove IP config, monitoring data and other config on the Exinda
Factory Reset from Web UI
Go to Configuration > System > Maintenance > Factory Defaults (tab), then click on Factory Reset. This will erase the monitoring info and the config on the Exinda, but it will keep the IP address settings.
Users can additionally select "Preserve Monitoring" check box and then factory reset the appliance. This will again keep the IP address settings, but will also keep monitoring information. It will delete all other information from the Exinda.
Factory Reset from Command Line
Open an SSH or console session with the Exinda and log in as an administrator. Enter the following commands:
Use one of the following commands to initiate the factory reset:
|factory default||Restore settings to Factory Defaults|
|factory default keep-basic||Restore settings to Factory Defaults and preserve basic configs|
|factory default keep-connect||Restore settings to Factory Defaults and preserve connectivity (IP settings)|
|factory default keep-monitor||Restore settings to Factory Defaults and preserve monitoring data|
Note that keep-basic, keep-connect, and keep-monitor can be used alone, or any combination of those 3 options.
Additional InformationPlease note that the running configuration text file can be downloaded from Configuration > System > Maintenance > Manage Config (press the floppy disk icon beside the active config).
It may also be a good idea to console in to the Exinda in case of unexpected issues.
