SummaryWhat to do when a system upgrade is interrupted by an error that says that the file upload has been interrupted.
OverviewWhen trying to upgrade the system firmware via the web UI, downloading the system image to the Exinda via a website is permitted as one of the ways to do the upgrade. However, during the middle of this upgrade path, the update freezes and the following is logged in the Exinda's standard log:
Sep 4 21:08:28 exinda rh: [web.NOTICE]: File upload interrupted
Sep 4 21:08:28 exinda rh: [web.NOTICE]: Request processing cancelled
Sep 4 21:09:34 exinda wsmd: [wsmd.NOTICE]: User admin (System Administrator) logged into Web UI from 172.22.0.104
Sep 4 21:09:40 exinda rh: [web.NOTICE]: Executing command: enable
CauseThis error is indicative that there is a problem with the web server that is either sending (the Exinda website) or receiving (the Exinda appliance) the image for the upgrade. If one of the web servers has a hiccup or goes down, the file transfer cannot continue and is thus cancelled.
ResolutionIf the problem is not with the license.exinda.com website, the CLI can be used to upload the image to the box. Once this is done, the web UI can be used to install from local image. The command to upload the firmware image is as follows, using 7.0.3U1 as an example: url: https://updates.exinda.com/exos/exinda-v7.0.3-update_1-3504-x86_64.img
exinda-35beba (config) # image fetch https://updates.exinda.com/exos/exinda-v7.0.3-update_1-3504-x86_64.img original
