OverviewIt is possible to get in to a situation where the graphs on the appliance are not visible. The message says "No data available for selected period", regardless of the time range that the graph is being shown. The database status should be checked at that time. Generally it is stopped or error and it is easy to diagnose the issue.
However, if the database status says "running" or 'starting", it means the database is not corrupt. It is just not online. The services have to be connected.
CauseMonitor daemon is not connected to mysqld
ResolutionIf database is showing "starting" give 5-10 minutes, still if graphs do not appear restart database
service database restart
Database will change from "starting" to " running" and graphs will start appearing appearing,If database is showing "running" and graphs still do not come up after 10 minutes then restart process monitord using the command
service monitor restart
Wait for 5-10 minutes and the graphs should be visible.
Additional InformationNote that there are valid points where the "No data available for selected period." message can happen. These include:
- The virtual circuits graph if the optimizer has been turned off for the entire period
- A time range if the database was down
- Any time range that the Exinda was in bypass mode or turned off
