OverviewNetflix is a type of traffic that changes frequently in order to keep up with demand. Whether it is moving to a CDN or is changing domains, or any other information, the application changes rapidly. The Exinda has a defintion for Netflix traffic in order to QoS and control the data, however it can be seen in v7.4.1 in firmware and earlier that it is not classified correctly.
CauseBecause of the rapid changes to the Netflix application, application definitions created by Exinda are updated on a frequent schedule. Just after v7.4.1 was released, Netflix changed its operational behaviour in a way that the default application definition that came with the device ceased to work effectively.
ResolutionNew and updated definitions were placed into both v7.4.2 and v7.4.3 firmware in order to properly classify Netflix traffic. Updating to these firmware will correctly classify Netflix traffic.
