SMB Signed Connection
CauseIf there are any signed SMB Connections in your network and those connections pass through the Exinda, we detect them and throw an alert.
ResolutionThis is nothing to worry about because Exinda now supports signed SMB Acceleration.
You can simply ignore the alert or disable it under System - Setup - Alerts
Additional InformationExinda appliances do not alter the SMB payload data, but do perform pre-fetching of data as part of the CIFS specific acceleration. With SMB signing enabled, the Exinda must be running v6.3 to perform pre-fetching. If running ExOS v6.0 -> v6.2 - When the Exinda appliances detect that the client and server are using SMB signing, they attempt to force the session to negotiate to SMB1. If the session does not, then they stop performing pre-fetching & CIFS specific acceleration. The appliances continue to perform layer 4 optimizations and compress and reduce data for the SMB signed connection but are unable to execute CIFS layer 7 specific latency optimizations. Therefore, in networks with significant latency (over 20-30 ms round-trip times) you will not see nearly as much file access performance improvement.
