This article discusses how shared mailboxes are archived within GFI MailArchiver.
Consider the following scenario, where User A has access to a Sales Mailbox such as firstname.lastname@example.org:
- User A sends an email on behalf of Sales to a Customer: This email will be archived in User A’s Sent Items.
- The Customer replies from email@example.com to firstname.lastname@example.org: This email will be archived in email@example.com's Inbox.
- User A replies to the email received from the Customer: This email will be archived in firstname.lastname@example.org's Sent Items.
This behavior occurs due to how these emails are sent and received in Microsoft Exchange.
MailArchiver is not responsible for how and where they are archived as ownership is set, as per the above example.
