There are situations where you need to replace or recreate the Outlook profile in an end-user machine due to a persistent generic error message when attempting to connect. Kerio Connector saves information from the Outlook user on the server-side. This allows a clean recreation of the profile.
This article provides the steps to recreate an Outlook profile using the 'clean' method.
NOTE: This is considered the clean method of recreating the profiles as it removes the sync configuration from both the client and server-side. The next time you create an Outlook Profile with Kerio Connector, it would be a brand-new installation. Use this method for troubleshooting purposes. In a typical scenario, you can follow the regular rebuild procedure.
Step #1 and #6 are to be performed on the client computer with Outlook and Kerio Connector installed, while Step #2 to #5 are to be performed on the server machine with the Kerio Connect installation.
- Remove the Outlook profile.
- Stop Kerio Connect.
- Navigate to the store folder. The default location is:
Windows - C:\Program Files\Kerio\MailServer\Store\Mail\[domain]\[username]
MacOS - /usr/local/kerio/mailserver/store/mail/[domain]/[username]
Linux - /opt/kerio/mailserver/store/mail/[domain]/[username]
- Remove the folder '
__keriomapi__STORE' and the files
- Start Kerio Connect.
- Create the Outlook profile again. Check Creating profiles in MS Outlook for further reference.
The Kerio Connector wizard guides you through the steps on recreating the profile, and once it has finished, you will see the data (emails, contacts, etc.) begin to populate Outlook.
