Users cannot send SMS messages. They are shown as queued outbound messages in the GFI FAXMaker MTA (Message Transfer Agent) monitor. Testing SMS functionality via the "Send Test SMS" button works fine.

By default, GFI FAXMaker will search for outbound items to process items in the GFI FaxMaker "out folder".
This is a long-standing issue with GFI FAXMaker, where SMS messages are only sent when there are fax devices present and configured to send faxes in GFI FaxMaker.
- Without Fax Devices: If the customer has no fax devices configured in the Lines / Devices configuration, add a FAXmaker modem device on a com port and configure the device to only send, not receive faxes. Re-start the GFI FaxMaker services.
- With Fax Devices: If the customer has a fax device which is set only to receive faxes and they have no objection to enabling the send functionality, enabling send on a single line will resolve the problem.
