How to change the application associated with the GFI FaxMaker printer

Answer

This is a guide to change the application which opens when the GFI FaxMaker Client has been installed and the FaxMaker printer is printed to:

If the GFI FaxMaker Client was originally installed with the radio selection to use Outlook New Message form only, but the GFI FaxMaker New Fax form is desired:
 

If the GFI FaxMaker Client was originally installed with the radio selection to use the GFI FaxMaker New Fax form, but the Outlook New Message form is desired:
 

If the GFI FaxMaker Client was originally installed using the radio option for both Outlook and the GFI FaxMaker New Fax form, but the GFI FaxMaker New Fax form is desired:
 
  • A registry key can be modified to get the GFI FaxMaker New Fax form to open when printing to the FaxMaker printer. See below for more details:
    • 32 bit Operating Systems:
      1. ​Open the registry editor to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\GFI Fax & Voice\FaxMaker\Configuration Mappings\fmprog.ini\GENERAL\
      2. Change Clientname to the path of SendFax.exe (default=C:\Program Files\GFI\FaxMaker Client\SendFax.exe)
    • 64 bit Operating Systems:
      1. ​Open the registry editor to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\GFI Fax & Voice\FaxMaker\Configuration Mappings\fmprog.ini\GENERAL\
      2. Change Clientname to the path of SendFax.exe (default=C:\Program Files (x86)\GFI\FaxMaker Client\SendFax.exe)

If the GFI FaxMaker Client was originally installed using the radio option for both Outlook and the GFI FaxMaker New Fax form, but the Outlook New Message form is desired:

    • 64 bit Operating Systems:
