Overview
When trying to scan a Mac OS based machine for missing patches, the following error message is displayed:
Missing patches scan; Mac OS X tool 'softwareupdate' failed: 'The request timed out. (0)
Root Cause
This error happens when the client machine fails to resolve the GFI LanGuard hostname.
Resolution
- Open the GFI LanGuard console.
- Go to Configuration and right click on Agent Management.
- Click on Agent Settings and under Communications choose the IP address of the GFI LanGuard server.
