GFI LanGuard scan results displays the following errors scanning Mac OS X computers:
- 'The network name cannot be found'
- 'Windows cannot find the network path. Verify that the network path is correct and the destination computer is not busy or turned off. If Windows still cannot find the network path, contact your network administrator'
- GFI LanGuard 2012 SR1 and later versions
- supported Mac OS X Environments
These error messages are normal because LanGuard is going to try to collect the system information through SMB first. Since this protocol can be installed on Mac OS X, the application will try to retrieve the information on port 445. If the service is not enabled or is blocked, the application will report the errors and collect the system information via SSH. These errors can be ignored.
GFI LanGuard tries to connect to SMB shares, but this is an optional choice to install in Mac computers.
