Overview
This article describes the process to follow when unable to scan and remediate client machines using IPv6 protocol in GFI LanGuard.
Environment
- GFI LanGuard
- All supported versions
Root Cause
GFI LanGuard supports only IPv4 protocol and is unable to resolve the hostname correctly when using IPv6, which causes failed scanning and remediation.
Resolution
Enable IPv4 protocol in your network environment over GPO (Group Policy Object) or manually on the client machine in the Local Area Network connection settings.
