AnswerThe Import Export Tool (IET) can be used to export items from either Microsoft Exchange mailboxes, public folders or PST files into GFI Archiver.
When an item is successfully exported, GFI Archiver writes the GUID 255DAA0D-B0AF-4640-AEBB-4039B07E5F3B to an unused extension attribute to the item to identify it as exported.
To identify whether an item has this attribute set, use the tool MFCMAPI (http://mfcmapi.codeplex.com/) to connect to the Microsoft Exchange mailbox or PST file and view attributes associated with a particular item. Confirm whether one of the extension attributes has the GUID 255DAA0D-B0AF-4640-AEBB-4039B07E5F3B set.
- General Instructions on MFCMAPI use can be found here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/291794
- The extension attributes checked are http://schemas.microsoft.com/exchange/extensionattribute1 to http://schemas.microsoft.com/exchange/extensionattribute10
- The Import Export Tool uses only one extension attribute to flag the items as processed
