Overview
Packet captures can be generated using an Exinda appliance. This is helpful for finding which ports/protocols are used in traffic on your network and other general network troubleshooting. To generate a packet capture from the web UI:
- Navigate to Configuration > System > Diagnostics > TCP Dump
- Select the interfaces and how you want the capture to run (timeout)
- Enter a filter if necessary, example: host 192.168.0.5
- Press the Generate TCP Dumps button.
Please note that depending on the amount of traffic, the packet capture may appear to keep growing after it should be stopped. This is just the data being written to disk and can take a few minutes to catch up.
