SummaryWhen Internal Error 1002 is shown, it means that there is a problem in the configuration of the device.
OverviewA user is browsing to Optimizer on the Exinda to make some config changes. Instead of getting the optimizer page, they see a page giving them some "Internal Error" and an output of many messages.
CauseThis happens when the configuration has gotten into an unknown state - for example, some of the configuration is referencing objects or interfaces that do not exist. When a user configures the appliance, they need to be sure that they do not add interfaces that don't exist or add policies for network objects that don't exist. Such mistakes are generally made when copying and pasting config from text file from one Exinda to the other.
The config on an Exinda should be tailored according to the interfaces and objects it has. If a user adds modules from the config not tailored for the Exinda it is going into, such errors might occur.
ResolutionThe only resolution for this is to get to a previously good known state. This can be done by the following:
1. If the changes are not "saved", reboot the Exinda so that it reverts back to the original config before the changes were made
2. If the above doesn't work or if the changes were saved, the user will have to factory-default the Exinda. This can be done under System- Maintenance - Factory Default tab.
Factory defaulting the Exinda brings it to a clean state and then a clean config should be added to the appliance.
