SummaryOn Exinda Mobile Server 4.4, it is possible to crash the server when accessing the web UI if there has been a Mobile Manager that has used the same IP in the past
OverviewExinda Mobile uses a web based management system in order to configure, operate and check the status of the Exinda Mobile deployment. Logging in to this system performs authentication in the back end like in most other web based systems. However, there are situations where the same IP or DNS name having previously been used by an Exinda Mobile Manager, where it can be seen where logging into the Exinda Mobile system will cause it to crash.
CauseAfter login authentication is done, the browser will request the home dashboard. In situations where the IP or DNS name is reused by a Mobile Server after once being used by a Mobile Manager, and if that IP/DNS name had been accessed on the computer currently contacting the Mobile Server, the browser will ask for the Mobile Manager's dashboard instead of the Mobile Server's, due to the browser's caching history. The Exinda Mobile Server cannot find some of the requested files for the Mobile Manager's dashboard as they do not exist on the Mobile Server, and it crashes as a result.
ResolutionIf the IP is reused for a Mobile Server, clear the browser cache or use a different browser before accessing the Mobile Server. This crash should not happen with a cleared cache.
Additional InformationIf clearing the browser cache does not work, please contact Exinda TAC for assistance.
