This article outlines the steps to access the Kerio Connect Administration Console.
Note: Only admins can access this console via secured connections (HTTPS) by using either the IP address or the DNS name of Kerio Connect.
Logging Into the Kerio Connect Administration Console
- In your browser, enter the URL of your Kerio Connect instance using this format:
Note: Only use officially supported browsers and disable browser extensions or add-ons that may interfere with Kerio Products.
If Kerio Connect is behind a firewall, you must allow the HTTPS service on port 4040. Enter the information in the format:
server_name/admin. Your browser should automatically redirect to the secured connection and port 4040.
In the login dialog, enter your admin username and password. If your account does not belong to the primary domain, enter your email address on the username field. For more information, read this article about Domains in Kerio Connect.
Click the Login button.
Accessing the administration interface remotely
Administrators can access the administration interface either:
- from the computer where Kerio Connect is installed; or
- from remote computers.
To allow access to the Kerio Connect Administration Console from a remote computer:
Go to Configuration > Administration Settings.
Select Allow administration from remote host.
(Optional) Specify a group of IP addresses from which administrators can access the administration settings:
If the Kerio Connect Client/Webmail or the administration interfaces are in idle mode, you will be automatically disconnected.
These are the steps to set the period for automatic logout:
In the administration interface, go to Configuration > Advanced options > Kerio Connect Client.
In the Session Security section, set the timeout hours.
- Session expiration timeout refers to the number of hours before Kerio Connect ends the session when there are no activities on an interface. The timeout is reset each time the user performs an action.
- Maximum session duration refers to the number of hours set for an entire session, whether users are active or inactive. The users are logged out after the set time has elapsed.
To protect against session hijacking, select the option to Force Kerio Connect clients to log out if the user's IP address changes:
Note: DO NOT use this option if your ISP changes IP addresses during the connection (for example, GPRS or WiFi connections).
- Click Apply.
Note: These Session Security settings apply to both the administration interface and Kerio Connect Client/Webmail.
The credentials are accepted, and you can now open the Kerio Connect administration console interface.
