Overview

When running a Missing Patches scan on a Fedora 22 (or above) Linux machine, there are no available updates reported, and it is not possible to deploy updates even though the package manager reports available updates through the terminal.

Environment

• GFI LanGuard 12.0
• Fedora 22 and above
  
  

Root Cause

LanGuard requires the Yum package management utility on Fedora (as well as RHEL and CentOS Linux) machines. With Fedora 22, Yum was replaced with DNF package manager.

Resolution

Install the Yum package manager on the Fedora machine with the following command:

dnf install yum

Confirmation

Rescan the machine.
