Google Chrome Is Not Categorized as a Web Browser

Overview

When performing a manual scan on a computer with Google Chrome installed, LanGuard does not classify it as a Web Browser.

This is done by default when LanGuard scans applications installed per user. OPSWAT/OESIS local does not detect applications installed per user; it only detects system-wide installed applications.
If you experience this issue, Google Chrome is classified under the All Applications category as replicated by the steps below:

  1. Open GFI LanGuard console.
  2. Go to Dashboard > Software.
  3. Under Application Category, browse to All Applications and Web Browser to locate Google Chrome.

Environment

GFI LanGuard 10.2 2011 (20111128)

Workaround
