Overview

When trying to deploy patches, the following error is encountered:

Incorrect command line parameters

Root Cause

This issue may occur when a patch being deployed needs Microsoft Windows Installer version 3 or later. Such a patch may still be installed without specifying any parameters. However, in order to deploy the patch in silent mode, Microsoft Windows Installer version 3 or later is required on the machine where the patch is being installed.

Resolution

Install Microsoft Windows Installer version 3 or later.
