Using Active Directory Synchronization Wizard in GFI LanGuard

This article shares information about using the GFI LanGuard Active Directory synchronization feature.

 

Information

GFI LanGuard 2015 added an 'Active Directory Synchronization Wizard' to help customers keep their GFI LanGuard console synchronized with active directory. This wizard guides the user through three functions and allows complete control over changes made: 
  • Remove computers from LanGuard that are not in Active Directory.
  • Add computers to LanGuard that are in Active Directory but not in LanGuard.
  • Move computers to their proper OU in Active Directory.
However, the wizard must be run manually to prevent unwanted changes. Many customers have compliance requirements and must keep scan results in their database for a certain amount of time or may not want specific computers to be added.
