Overview

GFI EventsManager is unable to connect to the database and SQL Management Studio shows the database status as "In Recovery".

Root Cause

There are several reasons why a Microsoft SQL Server database can change to "In Recovery" status. The common reasons are low disk space and an unexpected server reboot.

Resolution

Wait for Microsoft SQL Server to finish the recovery process on the database or restore the database from backup to be able to use it.
