Overview

This article provides information on how to troubleshoot an issue wherein events cannot be gathered from event sources residing in a different domain.

Root Cause

The different domain is not resolvable or the user specified has insufficient rights accessing the resources from the other domain.

Resolution

Make sure to verify the following and do the necessary changes:

• Ensure that the credentials from the Administrator are specified under the Logon Credentials window for a connection to be established. Use the support article Configuring Event Source Logon Credentials for reference.
• Ensure that all other domains are able to resolve DNS to enter the domain name and the username under the Logon Credentials window (<DOMAIN>\<User>).

  Enter the IP address in case of issues with DNS name resolution (example: 192.160.XXX.XXX\<User>).
