Can I disable the IPC$ share for a machine that is scanned by GFI EventsManager?

Answer

No, the IPC$ share is used when retrieving Microsoft Event logs remotely. This is also used by Microsoft s Event viewer when connecting to Event Logs remotely. Therefore, the IPC$ share is required to be able to retrieve Microsoft Event Logs remotely using GFI EventsManager
