Configuring a Queue Length

Overview

A Queue Length determines the maximum number of callers in the queue at the same time, and configuring this limit prevents callers from waiting too long in the queue. This article describes the steps to configure a Queue Length in Kerio Operator.

Note: The queue length is unlimited by default. To set the limit, perform the steps below.

Process

  1. In Kerio Operator's administration, navigate to Configuration > Call Queues.   Screen_Shot_2019-08-10_at_8.40.26_AM.png

  2. Click on Add or Edit depending on whether if you are adding a new configuration or editing an existing one. Either way, the Add Call Queues window appears. 

  3. On the General tab, the Queue length option is set to unlimited by default. Select the 'at most' option and set the maximum number of callers. Screen_Shot_2019-08-12_at_4.07.35_PM.png

  4. (Optional) Go to Announcements tab and select Full queue announcement. This announcement will be triggered when the limit is reached.

  5. Click the Exceptions tab.

  6. Select either of the following actions for the exceeded limit.

    Description

    Callers receive a busy signal

    If an announcement was set, the recording plays before a call is terminated.

    Forward to

    Kerio Operator forwards callers to the extension you set in this field. If an announcement is set, Kerio Operator plays the recording.

  7. Click OK to save the changes.

Confirmation

The queue length is configured. If you want to check your settings, dial the queue from several phones and once the queue limit is reached, the action set in step 6 will take place.
