Overview

This article provides the steps to enable the global address book of the GFI FaxMaker client.

Process

The steps below outline how to enable the global address book of the GFI FaxMaker Client:

1. Close the GFI FaxMaker Fax Message Form (where applicable).
2. Check in TaskManager that the process fmstart.exe is not running anymore.
3. Open the registry editor (regedit.exe or regedt32.exe).
4. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\GFI Fax & Voice\Faxmaker Client\Phone Book
5. Create the registry key Global and Personal (if not present). Types of registry keys are both string value.
6. Locate the absolute path of the global/personal phone book and then assign these values to both registry keys.
   Global=G:\Sharephonebooks\FaxMaker
Personal=C:\Program Files (x86)\GFI\FaxMaker Client\Phonebks
7. Close the registry editor and restart the GFI FaxMaker Fax Message Form.
