Restricting SNMP Access Using the CLI

Overview

Sometimes, it is necessary to restrict SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) access to a particular subnet; this can limit the users that have access to the SNMP to just a few hosts or network administrators.

Process

  1. Create a network object with the IP addresses of the hosts that should have access to the SNMP protocol.

  2. Log in to the CLI (command-line interface) of the Exinda device.

  3. Execute the following command:

    snmp-server restrict <network object>

where <network object> is the subnet created in step 1.
