Overview

When logging in to Exinda Appliance, a license expiration notification message is displayed even if the current license is still valid:

Appliance license will expire soon.

Root Cause Analysis

Diagnosis

• It may be referring to a Shell Unlock License Key which is required to enter the shell of Exinda Appliance.
  If you see this information LK2-RESTRICTED written at the beginning of the license, then its an indication that the Shell Unlock License Key is about to expire.
  
  Example of a Shell Unlock License Key:
  LK2-RESTRICTED_ABCD-12A3-EFG4-H5I6-J423-KLM8-6NP2-QRS0-TUVW-3XY0-Z59R-ABC8-12A9-F

• If the information LK2-RESTRICTED is not displayed with the license key, then it is referring to the Exinda Appliance License Key itself.

Solution

Scenario1:

If it is confirmed to be a Shell Unlock License Key, just simply ignore or delete this license as it will not affect anything on Exinda.

Scenario2:

If it is confirmed to be the Exinda Appliance License Key, please reach out with the contact owner or Sales Team.

Confirmation

The license expiration notification message should no longer appear upon login.
