Migrating Data from Your Source Exchange Server to Kerio Connect

Overview

This article serves as a guide in migrating data using KEMT. This tool is a free application for migrating public folders, accounts and, user data (Email, Contacts, Calendars, Tasks, Notes) from your Microsoft Exchange Server to Kerio Connect.

Prerequisites

Prepare KEMT for the migration process

Process

  1. Verify that both the source Exchange Server and Kerio Connect are running.
  2. Run KEMT and follow the wizard.
  3. Enter the hostname of the source Exchange server and its administrator.
  4. Enter the hostname and the admin credentials of Kerio Connect.
  5. Select the accounts for migration.

The migration process may be time-consuming. We recommend migrating data in parts (groups of users).
  6. Click Migrate.
If you interrupt the migration process, the tool only saves the completely migrated data of the user currently being migrated. Therefore, before you resume, delete the partially migrated user in Kerio Connect to prevent data duplication.
  7. See the Report log section for details.
    • When the migration is finished, click the Report or Debug log links to see the migration result.

Users should create new accounts or profiles in their email clients to avoid data inconsistency.
