Unable to Make Changes to the MailEssentials Configuration

Overview

The user is unable to save any changes within the configuration UI. The settings look like they are saved, however, when the page is refreshed or you browse to another section, the changes are not reflected.

Other symptoms:

  • The config.mdb is at 2GB, the maximum for MDB files.
  • The antispam2_autowhitelist_delete table within the config.mdb contains thousands, possibly millions, of entries.
  • The following errors appear in the autowhitelist logs if it can no longer move data from the autowhitelist.mdb to the config.mdb (in the event that the email address count goes over the autowhitelist limit):

GFI MailEssentials 2012 build 20120425-2158.

 

Resolution

Upgrade to GFI MailEssentials 2015 or later.
