How to Identify
After the installation of Exchange 2013 SP1 the mailflow will stop - removing MailEssentials will establish mailflow again. Trying to install MailEssentials again (or on a fresh Exchange 2013 SP1 server) will fail as the Agents can't be installed. The ek27wiz.log doesn't show any errors. But when manually trying to install one of the agents you get an error: [PS] C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Microsoft Exchange Server 2013>Install-TransportAgent -Transpo rtService Hub -Name 'GfiAsSmtpAgent' -AssemblyPath 'C:\Program Files (x86)\GFI\MailEssentials\AntiSpam\ContentSecurity.E xchangeAgents.gfiassmtpagent.dll' -TransportAgentFactory ContentSecurity.ExchangeAgents.GfiAsSmtpAgentFactory The TransportAgentFactory type "ContentSecurity.ExchangeAgents.GfiAsSmtpAgentFactory" doesn't exist. The TransportAgentFactory type must be the Microsoft .NET class type of the transport agent factory. Parameter name: TransportAgentFactory + CategoryInfo : InvalidArgument: (:) [Install-TransportAgent], ArgumentException + FullyQualifiedErrorId : [Server=IOREKEXCHANGE,RequestId=e2cf0a39-1eb8-4c39-8350-0951795c7d09,TimeStamp=26/02/201 4 12:20:39] [FailureCategory=Cmdlet-ArgumentException] 8B7578CD,Microsoft.Exchange.Management.AgentTasks.InstallTr ansportAgent + PSComputerName : iorekexchange.gordon.local
Workaround / Fix Details
This has been fixed through the release of a CU update for Microsoft Exchange 2013 (currently we have CU7). Updating Microsoft Exchange to latest CU will solve the issue.
