Overview

When GFI MailEssentials is installed as a relay server, the Message Delivery Log on the recipient mail server which gets the emails from the relay server shows in the Status Reply:

  550 5.7.1 Recipient not authorized, your IP has been found on a block list

Environment

• GFI MailEssentials
• All supported environments

Root Cause

The Sender Reputation was enabled on the recipient mail server and is blocking the email.

Resolution

The Sender Reputation has been enabled on the mail server. This configuration is incompatible with GFI MailEssentials as a relay server. All filtering should take place on the GFI MailEssentials server, not on the receiving mail server. For more information on Sender Reputation and how to disable it, please see the following:
